Notice from the board:
It was brought to the attention of the Matanuska Valley Sportsmen’s Range Board of Directors (MVS BOD) that the air flow on the indoor pistol range may not be moving air downrange and out as effectively as it should be. In June, the BOD contracted with Metals, Treatment Technologies (MT2) Firing Range Experts to perform a Range Assessment and evaluate both our indoor and outdoor ranges for existing conditions and improvements.
The results of that assessment have been received and the BOD is evaluating it to determine what needs to be done to improve our facility. MVS members are encouraged to review the assessment which is available at MVS and asking for it at the front desk.
The BOD has already started some remediation and expects these things to help but there are some recommendations by MT2 that could be cost prohibitive in the short term for our organization. However, the BOD welcomes any input from our members to help keep our range a safe place to enjoy our 2nd Amendment rights.
