Dacotah Rifle League
Dacotah Rifle League is a Smallbore Rifle Postal League team who participates in eight matches per winter season with about eight other teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Alaska. We meet most Thursday evenings from 6pm – 9pm, mid-December through the first week in April. New shooters are welcome but there is limited equipment available, including rifles, scopes, mats, jackets and gloves. MVS sells .22 standard velocity ammo at the range. Practice targets are free to participants and the cost to join the team is $25 which covers the cost of the eight match targets for the season. Cost to shoot at MVS is about $10 per shoot OR you can purchase an eight visit punch card for $68. Visa and MC accepted. Shooters will shoot four targets for each match in prone, sitting, kneeling and standing (offhand) positions. If you cannot get into one of these positions, shooters may opt for the next more difficult position, e.g., if you cannot get into the kneeling position, you may shoot two standing targets. Coaching is available by any of our available veteran shooters, many of whom are Range Safety Officers or current/past NRA coaches.
